Man sentenced in infant death case

WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) — A Warrick County man was sentenced to 40 years in prison Friday.

Thaddious Rice was found guilty of reckless homicide and neglect of a dependent causing death in March for the death of his girlfriend’s 10-month-old child in April of 2017.

According to the coroner, the child died from a head injury. Police said Rice originally told them the infant fell down a flight of stairs.

The Warrick County Prosecutor tells Eyewitness News Rice has been jailed for less than three years.
