EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- A garage door manufacturing company announced its expansion plans. This is expected to create more jobs in the Tri-State.
Torsion Group Corporation plans to invest $4 million to double the size of its facility in Evansville.
The expansion includes increasing the size of distribution and warehouse space along with adding new jobs.
Corporate leaders say since 80-percent of garage doors are made in the Midwest, Evansville’s location was the perfect place for expansion.
Joe Sitzman, vice president of operations and COO of Torsion Group says, “We feel really good. We’re excited about the expansion both for the Torsion Group and the city of Evansville. Vanderburgh County has been great with the tax credits as well as the state with the new job creation credits.”
Those benefits include an incentive package which includes a five-year tax phase-in on real estate improvements.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation also offered $100,000 in conditional tax credits for job creation plans.
Torsion Group Corporation is a manufacturing company based in Ohio.
