WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – It’s a heartwarming story about a family member heading off to military service then coming home.
One of those stories happened Thursday at Tecumseh High School when a Marine surprised his stepsister.
His name is Gavin Walsh.
This young Tri-State man is in the middle of a Marine ritual known as boot camp and it can be very tough.
But he was able to come home and strolled into Tecumseh High School to surprise his best friend – his stepsister.
“Family like is very important to me because they are always there for me for all kinds of things like breakups or friends leaving in good times.”
Sabrina Huffman is Gavin’s sister. But she is much more than that. She’s a person he turns to and considering this Marine will be facing major hurdles as he leaves boot camp for combat training, she will be there for him. And this Marine and brother will be there for her.
Gavin Walsh is preparing to return to finish boot camp in the next two days.
Both he and his sister will make the most of it.
