Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke declared Thursday “Run Bella Run to the Rescue” Day in Evansville.
Elizabeth Morgan adopted Bella from the Vanderburgh Humane Society in 2015.
Bella became Morgan's running partner and they've ran in six half marathons together.
Morgan started the “Run Bella Run to the Rescue” campaign, and through sponsorship she and Bella have raised $3,200 for the humane society.
The duo has been training for 18 weeks to run their first full marathon together this Saturday in Harrisburg, Illinois.
