Mayor Winnecke joins Red Cross for blood drive


EVANSVILLE, Ind (WEHT) – September is Sickle Cell Awareness Month and Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke joined the Red Cross for a blood drive on Friday.

About 100,000 people across the United States have sickle cell disease. One of the most important treatments is blood transfusions.

If you couldn’t donate on Friday, you can contact the Red Cross to set up an appointment to donate.
