Mayor Winnecke lights city’s Christmas tree

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The holiday season is right around the corner, which means it’s time to light the City of Evansville’s Christmas tree.

Mayor Lloyd Winnecke flipped the switch to light up the city’s official Christmas tree outside the Civic Center.

The Norway Spruce standing 36 feet tall and 30 feet wide was donated by a local family. It is decorated with around 25,000 lights.

The Christmas tree will stand outside the Civic Center until sometime after January 1, 2020.
