EVANSVILLE, Ind. – (WEHT) After a report coming out of Lexington Wednesday night that Aces head coach Walter McCarty could be reinstated as soon as Thursday, McCarty’s attorney Jon Little tells Eyewitness News that’s “news to me.”
Little says the investigation is ongoing, stating he has received no update on McCarty’s possible reinstatement at this time. He says McCarty is continuing to cooperate with the investigation.
University of Evansville Athletic Director Mark Spencer responded to the report via text message Wednesday night, stating that the university “would not confirm the report”.
McCarty was placed on administrative leave on December 27th following allegations of possible Title IX violations.
Since his leave began, the Aces have struggled under Interim Head Coach Bennie Seltzer, losing five straight.
