LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WEHT) – Mitch McConnell has a challenger in his 2020 bid for reelection in the U.S. Senate.
Democrat Amy McGrath announced early Tuesday morning she plans to run for the party’s nomination in 2020.
While appearing on MSNBC’s The Morning Joe, McGrath also released a video on Youtube making the announcement official.
The former marine ran for U.S. Congress in 2018, losing to Republican incumbent Congressman Andy Barr.
Shortly after McGrath’s announcement, Mitch McConnell’s campaign released a response video on Twitter.
McConnell has declared to run for reelection in 2020. The U.S. Senate Majority Leader is looking to win his 7th term in office.
