MEADE COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) — Multiple media outlets are reporting that a Meade County Sheriff’s Deputy has died after an altercation with a suspect.

Meade County Sheriff Phillip Wimpee shared on his Facebook page that Deputy Chris Hulsey, who Wimpee says was also an Emergency Medical Technician, died on Saturday.

Sheriff Wimpee does not relate the details of Hulsey’s passing, but the Daviess County Sheriff’s Facebook page reports that Deputy Hulsey suffered a heart attack after getting into a physical altercation with a suspect during a search warrant.

Sheriff Wimpee says in his Facebook post that, Hulsey “wore many hats in our town,” and loved serving his community and helping others.

Wimpee requests prayers for Hulsey’s sons, as well as his family and friends.
