Members of the Republican Party attend annual Lincoln Day dinner in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT)- Big names from the Indiana Republican party gathered for the annual Lincoln Day dinner. Friday Republicans gathered at the Evansville country club.

The dinner included Evansville Mayor Lloyd Winnecke, Congressman Larry Buchson as well as Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch.

We spoke with Crouch and she explained why they celebrate Abraham Lincoln.

“We celebrate Abraham Lincoln, the man, and his accomplishments, but we also celebrate what we stand for as Republicans. How we don’t spend more money then we make, how we work hard every day, and we also want to treat other people as we would like to be treated.”

Governor Holcomb attended the dinner and was the keynote speaker.
