EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden is opening a new animal habitat, called the ‘Budgie Walkabout,’ with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday morning at 10:00.

The Budgie Walkabout will be an outdoor walk-through aviary, home to nearly 300 brightly-colored Australian birds.

The Budgie Walkabout is the final project from the Zoo’s first set of capital developments, which includes the Engelbrecht Carousel and Koch Family Event Lodge.
