Mistake leads to couple's $703K Hoosier Lottery win

An Indianapolis couple is happy about a small mistake by an Evansville employee selling them lottery tickets.

Herby and Cori Shehorn were at a store in Evansville when Herby asked for $10 in Mega Millions.

Herby put the ticket in his wallet and went home.

It wasn’t until he got home that he realized he got $10 in CA$H 5 tickets instead.

That mistaken ticket was the jackpot winner, winning the couple $703,588 before taxes.

“The next morning, I went in and said, ‘I’m sure glad you screwed up,’” Herby said, laughing.

The couple plans to save half the money and to renovate their house.
