The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet advises that northbound lane restrictions are planned on the Twin Bridges, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with a southbound lane restriction planned for Saturday evening through Sunday evening.
KTC says that if weather cooperates, the work to install new solar-powered navigation lights, remove the old navigation lighting system, and repair inspection access ladders should be be completed this weekend.
Motorists can expect the northbound lane restriction between about 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Thursday and Friday.
Plans are to resume work on the northbound bridge starting at 9 p.m. on Friday, which should continue around the clock until approximately 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The contractor anticipates moving to the southbound bridge around 6 p.m. on Saturday, continuing with a lane restriction on the southbound bridge until about 6 p.m. on Sunday.
All traffic will be moved to the left-hand or passing lane during the work.
Motorists should be alert for slowing and merging traffic as they approach the bridges Thursday through Sunday, and commuters should allow extra travel time.
Appropriate caution is advised where equipment, flaggers, and other personnel are positioned along the roadway.
