Mt. Vernon man gives a car to a veteran in need through Facebook contest

Local News

MT, VERNON, Ind. (WEHT) – Joshua “Red” Nunn, owner and operator of Red’s Roadside Assistance in Mt. Vernon, wanted to give a car away to a veteran in need. Red had a contest on Facebook where people could nominate themselves or be nominated by a loved one for a chance to win the car.

Carroll Brown, who was nominated by his former wife and who also nursed him back to health after an emergency quadruple by-pass surgery, was chosen to receive the car.

Brown was pretty excited about getting a car that could take him to his VA Hospital follow up appointments and take his little grandson Liam for a cruise.

Red, who has been very generous to our veterans over the years, plans on giving another car away to a family in need around Christmas.
