A Muhlenberg County man is behind bars for allegedly possessing several grams of crystal meth.
Sheriff's Deputies arrested Michael Civils of Central City and charged him with trafficking a controlled substance and possessing drug paraphernalia.
Sheriff Curtis McGehee says investigators found nearly 56 grams of meth at his home on the 1800 block of Route 81 between Central City and Bremen, in what he calls a significant drug bust.
"It's not uncommon for people to buy a quarter gram of meth for $25. That can be used to maintain a high for some people for an extended period of time. So, 56 grams of meth is enough meth to, unfortunately, destroy a lot of lives,” says Sheriff McGehee.
Sheriff's Deputies also say they found two guns and $800 in cash inside the home.
