Musician set to perform at ROMP passes away

OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – A musician initially set to perform at the ROMP Music Festival has passed away.

Jeff Austin of The Jeff Austin Band died on Monday in Seattle after he was hospitalized.

Austin performed at ROMP last year and was set to perform on Friday night.

Organizers say the band will be replaced by the Larry Keel Experience.

Meanwhile, people started arriving at Yellow Creek Park Wednesday.

Last year’s event drew more than 27,000 people.

Two bands will perform at Pioneer Village Wednesday evening.
