NAACP of Evansville investigating EVSC procedures concerning arrest of teen

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – The NAACP of Evansville says they’re investigating the procedures of the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation concerning the arrest of a teen earlier this month.

Officials with the NAACP say they’ve tried reaching out to the mother of the teen twice, but have not heard back from her.

We’ve been told the mother has her own legal counsel.

The NAACP is still trying to figure out whether the bus driver should have called the school corporation first or 911.

We will continue to follow this story and update information as it becomes available.
