Name, cause of death have been released in deadly Daviess Co. crash

DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Indiana State Police have released the name of the woman involved in a deadly crash in Daviess County.

Indiana State Police say Heather Niemeier, 43, of Evansville, died in the crash Wednesday evening.

Police say Neimeier was driving northbound on I-69 in Daviess County when she lost control of her vehicle, hit a guardrail and flipped upside down in a body of water against a bridge pillar.

Neimeier was pronounced dead at the scene.

The coroner says Neimeier died from drowning, secondary to the initial impact of the crash.

Toxicology results are pending.

The crash is still under investigation.
