Two Dead Following Head-On Collision on Highway 431_68291648-159532

Kentucky State Police is identifying three people involved in a crash inside McLean County Tuesday morning. Two of those people died as a result of the crash.

KSP tells Eyewitness News Jose C. Ojeda-Solis, 41, of Hartford hit a vehicle driven by Chris Stewart, 36, of Central City head-on.

Authorities say Ojeda-Solis was in the process of passing another northbound vehicle when the head-on collision happened.

Ojeda-Solis was pronounced dead on the scene by McLean County Deputy Coroner Lee Muster.

Stewart was transported to Owensboro Health and his injuries are considered serious.

Patrick Baxter, 23, was a passenger in Stewart’s vehicle, and he was also pronounced dead on the scene.

The investigation continues into what may have caused this crash.

Investigators say it’s unknown if drugs, alcohol, or speed are contributing factors and that it’s unknown if seatbelts were used.

However, investigators do say fog may have contributed to lower visibility.
