NCAA tournament to not allow fans, impacts Elite 8 in Evansville

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) — The NCAA announced Wednesday only “essential staff and limited family” will be allowed to attend the NCAA Tournament this month.

The announcement impacts the Tri-State. The Division II Elite 8 will be held at Ford Center March 26 and 28.

Eric Marvin with the Evansville Sports Corporation joined Eyewitness News to talk about the impact the NCAA’s decision will have on Ford Center.

Marvin says the majority of the tickets sold for the Elite Eight are walk ups because the teams playing haven’t been determined yet. He says they’ll work with the NCAA for people who already purchased tickets.
