WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – Hundreds of union workers at Alcoa could go on strike starting as early as Thursday morning.
The United Steelworkers (USW) union and Alcoa are negotiating a new contract.
Alcoa said it’s prepared for the possibility of a work stoppage.
Officials said the plant has contracted employees who will be put to work if union members walk out.
Alcoa and USW have been negotiating for two weeks.
According to Alcoa, the two sides are making progress to reach a fair deal.
The deadline to reach an agreement is Wednesday.
