NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT)- A bid to build the new Allen Family Amphitheater in Newburgh was awarded to ARC Construction Wednesday evening at the town council meeting.

“Money for the project has been raised without any government funding,” says council member Carol Schaefer.

The project also includes burying all the overhead wires on the north side of the French Island trial near the Amphitheater site.

Schaefer said a groundbreaking ceremony is in the works.

The project is expected to be done by the summer of 2020.
