HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) A backhoe turned the first dirt for a new assisted living center in Henderson.

The Homeplace of Henderson Assisted Living and Memory Care Center is being built off of Green River Road at Osage drive.

The center will bring 50 jobs to the area.

It will feature 60 private apartments, including 24 dedicated solely to memory care services for local seniors suffering from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia.

“Our heart and souls have been poured into Homeplace,” said project leader Jessica Pritchett Beaven, “There have been many sleepless nights with this project on our minds because our hearts want it to be the best for all families of Henderson.”

The center represents an economic investment of more than $9.5 million.

It is set to open in the Spring of 2021.
