New changes made to academic calendar for USI students

Local News

VANDERBURGH COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – The new academic calendar for University of Southern Indiana students has a couple changes. But one major one.

A study day before finals is not built into the calendar from 2020 to 2024.

It was on the Wednesday before final exams started and was a time for students to focus on the test they had coming up in the next week.

With this change comes a new final exam schedule.

In the past, tests would take place from Thursday to Wednesday of the next week. With this change, exams will be held from Sunday to Friday.

University students think this could pose a problem for some.

“People are procrastinators so that’s probably going to throw people off. But it could be a good thing because then they’ll learn not to procrastinate as much”

USI communications say the calendar hasn’t been made official yet and they’ll be making an announcement with the changes soon.

Students will also see a change when it comes to summer classes.

Instead of three sessions, there will only be two.
