A new guardrail has been installed in Evansville to help prevent serious accidents.
The rail is intended to keep cars from driving into a property at the intersection of Newburgh Road and Washington Avenue.
Several accidents have taken place at this intersection in a short period of time.
Last winter, a woman speeding away from police ended up in the family’s yard.
The suspect hit a utility pole, several trees, even the family’s parked vehicle.
Shortly after this accident, new reflective warning signs were installed.
Now, the street maintenance department has installed a metal guardrail.
