Monday, a gathering is scheduled to show support for the Princeton employees who lost their jobs earlier this week.
Newly-elected Mayor Brad Schmitt let go several city employees on Thursday night.
Schmitt posted a statement on his Facebook page Sunday that reads, in part:
“All I ask is that you keep an open mind and have faith that I’m making decisions I feel are in the best interests of the community as a whole. I don’t ask that you like those decisions or understand them at this point.”
Schmitt added that he will be laying out his vision for the city of Princeton in the coming weeks and said he hopes residents will come out to city meetings to learn about possible changes.
The city council meeting is scheduled Monday at 5:30 p.m.
