DAVIESS COUNTY, Ky. (WEHT) – We’re getting our first look at what the new Daviess County Middle School will look like.

School officials released these renderings of the school.

The school will be built near the Gateway Commons Shopping District.

It will include three wings, 10 classrooms and a storm shelter that can be used during severe weather or other emergencies.

The building will also surround an outdoor courtyard in the middle.

The new middle school is expected to be open by August 2021.

A new rendering of an expected addition at Apollo High School has also been released.

The two-story, twenty-six classroom addition at Apollo will move the front entrance of the school to Gemini Drive. According to RBS Design Group, the addition will include expanding the cafeteria to accommodate for increased student enrollments, new classrooms, new science rooms and science lecture labs. The kitchen will be renovated, lighting will be upgraded throughout the space, as well as roofing and flooring repairs.
