The Newburgh Town Council is hearing an update on Wednesday night from the project leaders for the preservation of a little red house.
Fundraising efforts continue as the group needs $60,000 to hire workers to pick upt he house and move it less than a mile uptown to the Old Lock and Dam.
The project cost could be cut in half if matching grants from the state are approved.
The property and historic brick house was recently bought and the new owners want to build.
The owners and town council have agreed to have the house moved – rather than demolished.
