OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – O.Z. Tyler Distillery announced on their Facebook page Friday that the clean up has been completed and they are going to host an event to celebrate.
The major clean-up operation took place after a portion of a bourbon storage rickhouse, which held 20,000 barrels, collapsed just after midnight on June 17 earlier this year at the distillery in Owensboro.
Master Distiller Jacob Call says around 4,500 barrels have fallen out of the building near where a corner of a building collapsed on the distillery’s property.
No one was hurt but the damage was staggering.
O.Z. Tyler said the collapse impacted many people in the community and they want to give back.
The big celebration is on November 15th from 6 pm – 9 pm and will include music and food.
The distillery will be opened to the public during celebration free of charge.
