Oakland City Police Change Badges for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Local News

A color that you wouldn’t normally find on a police uniform is pink.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Oakland City Police Department is wearing something pink.

All of the officers can be seen wearing pink badges.

This is something the department has been trying to get for years but the pink badges are in such high demand, they are hard to get.

Each officer bought their own badge and will be wearing them for the whole month of October.

The American Cancer Society says breast cancer is the second leading cancer causing death in women behind lung cancer.
