Oakland City University will be closed on Tuesday as funeral services will be held for a professor and her daughter, who died in a car crash last week.

Dr. Claudine Cutchin and her daughter, Adelaide, were killed in the accident at State Road 64 in Gibson County last Thursday. Dr. Cutchin was a 23 year employee at Oakland City University. Adelaide graduated from OCU this past December.

University officials say classes will be canceled to allow faculty, staff, and students to attend visitation and funeral services on Tuesday. Visitation will take place February 7 from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel, Ilinois.

A memorial service will also be held in Johnson Center on Oakland City University’s campus on Wednesday, February 8, at 11 a.m. Classes on the main campus will be canceled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
