Ohio man arrested on gun and drug charges

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – An Ohio man is facing charges after deputies say they found 171 grams of marijuana and a gun in his vehicle.

On Monday, 38-year-old Lamont McKinney of Xenia, Ohio and his passenger were stopped on Interstate 64 for following another vehicle too closely.

A deputy on the scene said he could smell marijuana.

We’re told neither McKinney or his passenger had a valid driver’s license.

Authorities say McKinney gave consent to a search and 171 grams of marijuana, a .25 caliber handgun and digital scales were found in the vehicle.

McKinney was booked in the Gibson County Jail and faces several charges.

We’re told he has since posted a $2500 cash bond.
