Local News

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEHT) – Evansville Police get a pasta lunch break with bread sticks on the side.

Olive Garden supplied 40 EPD officers with free food.

More than 850 Olive Garden restaurants around the country delivered food to first responders.

This is the 18th consecutive year for it.

EPD officers say it’s nice to be recognized when most are taking the day off.

“In my experience, more often than not, there’s a very few days go by where somebody doesn’t speak to me and thank me for doing my job and what I do, and it just goes to the kind of community we live in.”

Since 2002, Olive Garden has delivered and served more than 14,000 meals to first responders on Labor Day.
