One person killed in Spencer Co. crash

SPENCER COUNTY, Ind. (WEHT) – One person is dead following a crash in Spencer County.

It happened Thursday night just after 8PM on State Road 545 near County Rd. 1350 N.

According to the Spencer County Sheriff’s Office, a passenger car was driving northbound when it left the roadway and went into a ditch. Deputies say the car got back onto the roadway when a truck driven by John Korressell, of Cannelton, was unable to avoid hitting the car.

There were three people in the car. Jacob Ninke, of Grandview, and Derek Mulzer, of Evanston, were injured and flown to area hospitals.

Another person, 25-year-old Hunter Greulich, of Evanston, died at the scene.

Korressell was taken to the hospital in a vehicle.

There’s no word on their conditions.

The investigation is ongoing.
