SEBREE, Ky. (WEHT) – There’s nothing quite like getting a coveted box of Girl Scout cookies, but what about those in the military?
That’s where Operation Cookie comes in, a program where Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana sends boxes of cookies to soldiers.
Local troop 288 out of Madisonville is one group participating in Operation Cookie this year.
“It’s a taste of home that they miss, and they love getting Girl Scout cookies, especially when they’re shipped out overseas,” said troop 288 Co-leader Kayla Duncan.
Each box costs $5 and the cost of shipping is included. The boxes are shipped to soldiers around the world and those in basic training.
