Owensboro city officials are set to fine the owner of Gabe’s Tower after a major deadline has passed.

City Attorney Ed Ray said the city will ask the Owensboro Property Maintenance Board to assess daily fines against Bob Zimmerman, the tower’s owner, until it complies with city property codes.

The request will be made at next month’s meeting in mid-October.

Zimmerman had until earlier this month to bring forward his plans for the tower.

Zimmerman said he plans to appeal any future fine levied against him.

Ray said once the fines are assessed, Zimmerman will have 30 days to pay the fine.
