OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – A project to look at ways to have more people live in downtown Owensboro will start soon.
City commissioners approved an $80,000 contract with A+ Leadership consulting to study the issue.
They’ll look at places where apartments or other homes can be built – available spaces in existing buildings – and talk with developers.
“You have to have people living in a variety of spaces, like the enclave, high level condos, all the way down to people who will pay 500, 600, or 700 dollars a month for an efficiency. You have to look at buildings and spaces that can be adapted to where folks can live downtown.”
Reeves says the study will take at least a year to do and that much of the work will be done in the first several months of the study.
