OWENSBORO, Ky. (WEHT) – Dozens of community groups across the Tri-State get hundreds of thousands of dollars in grants from Owensboro Health.
The health care provider awarded more than $644,000 for their Community Health Investments Grant Program.
The money funds projects addressing health and other needs – ranging from children’s health to arts in the community.
“We stay embedded with these organizations as partners throughout the year because when you’re dealing with the issues outside the walls of the hospital, such as hunger, substance abuse, homelessness, you don’t just give a check and go on. So, it’s amazing to see exactly what they do, and how we get to work with them throughout the year.”
Owensboro Health has invested more than $6.7 million since the program started in 2009.
