Owensboro man arrested after forcing way into vehicle

Local News

(WEHT)- 42-year-old Scott Garrard was arrested after police say he forced his way into a woman’s car at a Marathon gas station in Owensboro.

The victim reportedly told police Garrard demanded she start driving after forcing his way into her car. He then demanded money from her and started choking her while she was driving because he didn’t like how she was driving.

The victim then pulled into a store parking lot, grabbed her purse, ran into the store and yelled for the clerk to call the police. Garrard reportedly entered the store and was told to leave by the clerk.

At that point, authorities say Garrard left the store and stole the victim’s car. The car was recovered at a residence in Daviess (Ky.) County Sunday.
