Owensboro man arrested following multi-county pursuit

HARTFORD, Ky. (WEHT) – An Owensboro man has been arrested following a multi-county chase.

Levi Lyons is facing a laundry list of charges, including attempted murder, assault of a police officer, DUI, wanton endangerment, criminal mischief, fleeing police, driving on a suspended license, and possession of open alcohol container in motor vehicle.

Warren County Sheriff’s deputies tried to stop Lyons’ truck on I-165 northbound just before 4:00 p.m. They say Lyons fled from deputies. The pursuit ended when he got into Butler County.

A Kentucky Fish and Wildlife officer located Lyons truck, where he pursued the suspect.

Kentucky State Police troopers took the lead in the pursuit as Lyons got into Ohio County.

KSP says the used a tire deflation device that deflated two of the vehicle’s tires.

Police say Lyons used his vehicle to hit two marked KSP cruisers that were pursuing him.

Eventually, troopers stopped his truck and were able to bring him into custody.

Lyons was taken to the Ohio County Jail. He’s being held without bond.
