An Owensboro mayoral candidate was arrested over the weekend for allegedly trespassing at the Big O Music Fest.
Deputies working security at the event were advised that Neil Johnston had been previously been kicked out by Big O staff but then returned.
At first, deputies say Johnston was given a ride home.
However, deputies say Johnston was again located at the Big O Music Fest following this, and was placed under arrest.
Johnston was transported to the Daviess County Detention Center.
He was charged with 3rd degree criminal trespassing. This charge is issued when a subject knowingly enters or remains on property unlawfully.
Johnston is listed as one of five mayoral candidates in Owensboro.
