Owensboro Police turn evidence over to prosecutor in priest sex abuse investigation

Local News

Evidence in the investigation of Father Ed Bradley has been turned over to the prosecutor’s office by Owensboro Police.

Allegations of sexual abuse were reported against the priest earlier this year.

Owensboro Police confirm everything from the department’s investigation is now in the hands of Commonwealth Attorney Bruce Kuegel’s office.

Bradley is accused of sexually abusing two minors in the 1980’s. For a portion of that time he was the principal at Owensboro Catholic High School.

The priest was the chaplain of the men’s basketball teams at the University of Kentucky and Louisville at one point.

In May, Bishop William Medley announced a recommendation to permanently suspend Father Bradley from public ministry after the diocese review board found the allegations brought against Bradley to be credible.

The Vatican will decide whether to permanently suspend Father Bradley.
