OWENSBORO, Ky (WEHT) — Owensboro School Board members will meet on Thursday to decide whether to join a growing lawsuit against e-cigarette makers.
Last week, the Daviess County School Board approved a resolution to join a lawsuit that was started by other Kentucky School districts against Juul, and others.
Officials in both Daviess County and Owensboro Public Schools say they’ve noticed more students using e-cigarettes or vaping devices.
Daviess County Schools Superintendent Matt Robbins says he hopes to get more protections for students, because he believes the products are being marketed specifically to their age group.
The Owensboro City School Board meets later this evening to decide what, if any, action they will take.
