Owensboro – Now that Autumn has arrived, a lot of people are starting to think about the Holidays. After all, Christmas is now less than three months away.
But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, let’s back up and talk about Thanksgiving. Although still nearly sixty days away, plans are well underway for one of the most iconic November events: The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York City.
This year, a Daviess County High School student will be marching along the route. Senior Trent Woolard was chosen to perform based on a video application and audition, which, included playing a musical number and demonstrating his marching abilities.
According to a news release from Daviess County Public Schools, Woolard will play tuba in the parade. He says he wanted to apply because it sounded like an interesting opportunity.
While in New York, Woolard will also be treated to a tour of the city and a Broadway show. He will head to The Big Apple on November 23rd to being rehearsals.
