Local News

WHITESVILLE, Ky. (WEHT)- Students, teachers, and staff at East View Elementary School held a parade Monday outside the home of kindergarten teacher, Meredith Jarboe.

Jarboe’s husband, John passed away a year ago from cancer. The parade passed through Jarboe’s neighborhood with balloons, signs, and words of encouragement to let Jarboe and her family know that the school is still thinking of them.

Fellow teacher, Jo Beth Grigsby says “we wanted them to know that we still support them and love them and that we wanted John’s light to continue to shine.”

Teachers and staff from Daviess County Middle School, Daviess County High School, and Whitesville Elementary School also took part in the parade Monday morning.
