William and Donna Leonard

Officers called it the worst living conditions they’d ever seen. Now, two Evansville parents appear in court for the first time.

William and Donna Leonard are charged with child and animal neglect. William’s bond was set at $20,000 cash and has been ordered to have no contact with his 11-year-old step-daughter.

Police were called to the house on S. Lombard Ave. last Wednesday, when their daughter said she didn’t want to live anymore in her deplorable living conditions. Two malnourished pets were also found in the home.

Both parents are scheduled to be in court in early May.
