Party on the Green rocks the Victoria National Clubhouse

NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) — After a long day watching day three of tournament play, fans were ready to turn up the heat.

During the day, Victoria National Golf Course was the center of attention, drawing crowds from all over the country to watch their favorite players chase that coveted PGA Tour Card.

“This is the final stage of a lot of people trying to get to the next level and I think it’s really cool that we actually get to host it,” said Brian Myrick, Event Committee Chair.

As day three of tournament play came to an end, the party was just getting started.

“Our idea was to get as many people here as we could,” said Myrick. For the first time, the clubhouse was transformed into a party on the green. “I look at this and I see the band playing back here and honestly I think it would be cleared out if it wasn’t for the band, wasn’t for the food trucks and everybody hanging out and having a good time,” said Myrick.

There was corn hole, music and a whole lot of food.

“What’s great about being mobile for this is bringing it to show people what our area has in town. So I think it’s really great to showcase local business. I think it’s kind of nice to have the food trucks out so people from out of town and out of the area can come in and see all of the cool stuff that we have here,” said Stepahnie Peckeneaugh, Owner of The Pizza Revolution.

“It’s such a beautiful venue and it’s such an amazing place to be able to see the sunset like we’re seeing behind us and to be able to really experience the band that they brought up from Nashville. Everyone’s happy, having a beer, eating some food. It’s just a really good time,” said Nick Duffy, Owner of The Duffy Shuffle.
