EVANSVILLE, Ind-(WEHT)-The coronavirus outbreak has taken a terrible toll on the travel industry. Many carriers are canceling flights to virus hot spots including northern Italy.
Several people flying out of Evansville’s Regional Airport tell Eyewitness News they aren’t concerned about the disease hampering any of their travel plans.
“I try not to touch things but I can’t worry about things like that I’m not going to spend my life worrying about if I am going to get sick,” said Jia Shelton.
On Sunday, Delta Airlines announced it’s suspending its U.S. flights to Milan. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says there are now 91 confirmed cases of the coronavirus in the United States.
Airport officials tell us they will continue to monitor that situation.
