NEWBURGH, Ind. (WEHT) – Encompass Health Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital celebrated the grand opening of its new location earlier this week, and on Sunday patients moved in.

The rehabilitation hospital is located on the Warrick Wellness Trail by Epworth Road in Warrick County.

The 80-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital offers physical, occupational, and speech therapies, along with 24-hour nursing care.

Patients from the Covert location were moved to the new Warrick County location on Sunday.

Blake Bunner, the hospital’s CEO, said, “We strategically planned for how we would move our patients, so we had it completely mapped out, and I give full credit to my teams here, the clinical teams that worked diligently on this to ensure a safe, patient transfer based on every patient’s individual need.”

Encompass Health will still operate the 18-bed satellite hospital located on the fourth floor of Midtown Hospital in Evansville.
