Perry County coroner provides update after body was pulled from Ohio River

ROME, Ind. (WEHT) — Indiana State Police continue to investigate after a woman’s body was pulled from the Ohio River Monday.

The woman, who may be in her mid 40s, was found near a boat ramp in the town of Rome.

Perry County Coroner Warren Taylor says an autopsy was done Tuesday and he was not able to make an identification, but it is a woman.

Toxicology tests are being done, and Taylor says the cause of death is likely drowning.

Taylor says there are no signs of a crime.
